Preservation Policy
This policy also covers digital archiving.
NJRST is committed to the long-term preservation, accessibility and integrity of the scholarly record.
The journal will make reasonable efforts to ensure that published content remains accessible over time through secure platform management, backups, metadata maintenance and participation in appropriate digital preservation or archiving services where available.
Digital preservation
NJRST aims to preserve published scholarly content, including articles, review articles, case studies, book reviews, editorials, special issue content and associated metadata.
Preservation may include article landing pages, full-text files, metadata, supplementary files and other publication information, depending on the requirements and functionality of the relevant preservation service.
Archiving arrangements
Where available, NJRST may use recognised digital preservation services such as the PKP Preservation Network, Portico, institutional repositories, national libraries, the Internet Archive or other trusted services to support long-term access and restoration.
The journal will publicly indicate the preservation services in which it participates once these arrangements are active.
Access and restoration
The purpose of the journal’s preservation arrangements is to ensure that published content remains part of the permanent scholarly record. If the journal website becomes unavailable or content needs to be restored, NJRST will work with its publisher, hosting provider and preservation partners to support continued access wherever possible.
Metadata and record integrity
NJRST will endeavour to maintain accurate metadata for preserved content, including article titles, author names, publication dates, issue information, DOIs, licensing information and links to the version of record. Where corrections, retractions or other post-publication notices are issued, the journal will seek to ensure that the preserved and indexed record reflects the updated publication status where possible.
